Cookie policy
Which cookies the Super Storage website uses, and how you choose for yourself, via the cookie banner, whether to allow them.
This document is a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Dutch version prevails.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit that website. Similar techniques, such as local storage or tracking pixels, fall under the same term for this policy.
2. Which cookies does this website use?
Necessary storage. When you make a choice in our cookie banner, we remember that choice in your browser's local storage (not a cookie in the strict sense). This is needed so we don't ask you for consent again on every visit, and no consent is required for it.
Analytics cookies — Google Analytics. If you give consent via our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to measure how visitors use our website: which pages are visited, for how long, and how visitors find us. We also use it to measure how many visitors click through to our booking system, so we can see whether our Google Ads campaigns are working (conversion tracking). We use this data in anonymised, aggregated form to improve the website and our advertising — not to personally identify individual visitors.
- _ga — distinguishes visitors from one another. Retention period: 2 years.
- _ga_<container-id> — keeps track of your session status. Retention period: 2 years.
- _gcl_au — used by Google Analytics to measure, only after your consent, the effectiveness of our Google Ads advertisements (which click led to a booking). Retention period: 90 days.
We use Google Consent Mode for this: Google's measurement script loads on every page, but starts in a "denied" state in which nothing is stored or sent. Only after you click "Accept" in our cookie banner do we give the script permission (update to "granted") to actually place the cookies above and send data. If you click "Decline", that state stays "denied" and no analytics or advertising cookies are placed. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
For our Google Ads search campaign, we also use the Google Ads conversion tag (Google tag AW-18058037828), to measure whether a click on an ad leads to a visit or booking with us. That tag follows the same "denied/granted" logic as above. After a completed booking in our booking system (MyYounit), you land on our own thank-you page, which records this conversion.
Data collected by Google Analytics and Google Ads may be processed by Google Ireland Limited and, for some processing, by Google LLC in the United States. This happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
The website's fonts and images are loaded from our own server, so on their own they don't send any data to third parties such as Google.
3. External websites
Some buttons and links on our website take you to third-party services. Those services may place their own cookies as soon as you open them:
- Booking and paying ("Book now") happens via Younit's booking platform (MyYounit).
- Directions opens Google Maps, only after you click "Show map" yourself on our contact page.
- "WhatsApp us" opens WhatsApp (Meta).
We have no control over those websites. Please refer to the cookie and privacy policy of the relevant party.
4. Your consent
On your first visit, you'll see a cookie banner with two equal choices: "Accept" or "Decline". If you choose "Decline", we only use the strictly necessary storage described above, and Google Analytics and the Ads conversion tag stay set to "denied". You can review your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page.
5. Managing or deleting cookies
Besides the choice in our cookie banner, you can also view, block and delete cookies yourself through your browser's settings. See your browser's help function to find out how.
6. Questions and changes
If you have questions about this cookie policy, email info@superstorage.be. You can read more about how we handle your data in our privacy policy.
We update this policy as the website changes. The most recent version is always available on this page.
